Delivered from the works in 1958 to first owner, a Mr. Anderson, from California and was
originally fitted with a Bristol 100D engine which was later changed for an Oldsmobile 3.5
litre unit. It was competed in this form, even turbocharged by Larry Meeker and was very quick.
Larry, who has recently communicated to confirm, then sold the car in the late 60's to a
NASA test pilot. Later sold to a Mr. Goss and then to
Bud Stanley in about 1990 who commenced an extensive restoration, before selling to Jonathan
Bradburn who carried out further work to complete in the UK recently.
The car has fitted Girling front disc brakes and 16 inch wire wheels which have recently
been rebuilt by Motor Wheel Services. It also has been re-fitted with a rebuilt Bristol
100D2 engine which has new Bristol high compression pistons fitted along with a replacement
head that has new valves, guides and unleaded seats. It has a new stainless steel exhaust and
has been rewired and had correct Smiths instruments fitted. It has been re-trimmed in red
leather and has hood, tonneau cover and side screens. Steering is by original Bishop cam and
there is a large file of old bills, current bills and sundries together with an original
handbook and engine workshop manual. New Avon tyres have been fitted.
