This car was first registered on 13 June 1956. The
first owner listed in the registry was Louis Klemantaski, the internationally famous motor
racing photographer. The original colour was blue. It has its original chassis plate.
Previous owners were Stanley Twigg, Edward Cashmore

(1970), Duncan McGregor (1971),
Robert Jones (1971). It was owned in the 80's by a Mr. Moran of County Tyrone in Ireland
before passing to a Mr. Jones, also in Ireland. Nigel Dawes acquired the car in the late
90's and set about preparing the car for historic rallying. It was completely stripped
and the body and chassis totally restored.
The car has now been completed to rally specification and is fitted with a fresh Greg
Margetts Ford Zephyr 2.6 fitted with iron head and triple SUs, overdrive gearbox, new
wiring, brakes and plumbing, fire ext. system, roll over bar, front anti roll bar, new
rear uprights, new front hubs, new rear drums, new drive shafts and propshaft, new front
discs, rebuilt wire wheels, halda, retrimmed seats, new belts, front spotlights, perspex
windows, cooling ducts, new exhaust, and new instruments plus many other new parts. Work
on the car was carried out on a 'no expense spared' basis by Roger Dowson at
Silverstone and bills are available. There is a file of old and new bills together with
other documentation including an old buff log book and there may be various spares available.
There is also an album of
photos detailling various stages of the work as carried out.
The car was used in 3 events during 2005 to 'run in' and had 2 first places and 1 second place.
