This excellent example of a Cooper Bristol F2 car was originally the works sports car that
was badly damaged in the 1953 Goodwood nine hour race when driven by John Coombs after which
its chassis was believed to have been replaced with a perforated one from a single seater
( see Doug Nye , Cooper cars). The car was raced by the Hon Edward Greenall before passing
to Roy Winkelman who took the car to Denver, Colorado in 1959. Circa 1975 the car was then
rebuilt as a single seater by Barry Simpson for Stephen Langton who had found the car
languishing in the USA in the early 70s.

It has raced in this form ever since and has
current (2006) FIA papers and VSCC papers. There is a substantial file of paperwork
including Barry Simpsons invoices for the 70s rebuild and letters from Bob Winkelman (who
looked after the car in the USA and is brother of Roy) . It has more recently been raced
successfully by Kenneth White and is one of the most competitive Coopers. It has a Neil
Davis engine a which is believed based on a BS1 fitted with new steel crank and rods etc
and is ready to go. There are spare wheels, fuel tank, exhaust and tyres and other parts
with the car. There is possibly a spare engine and gearbox available also at extra cost.
